Deadly flash flood hits Arizona swimmers
A deadly flash flood has swept through a swimming hole in the US state of Arizona.
Reports of the number of people killed vary, with some putting the figure at four, others at seven. Children are thought to be among the victims.
A number of other people are reported to be missing.
The flash flood occurred at Cold Springs, near Payson, on Saturday afternoon, sweeping people down East Verde River.
The Associated Press news agency quoted Water Wheel Fire and Medical District Fire Chief Ron Sattelmaier as saying that more than 100 people were in the swimming hole when water from a severe thunderstorm flooded the area.
At least four people have been rescued from the water.
